Johnny Depp Set To Sink His Teeth Into The Shadows - The new Johnny Depp project has just been revealed and it should make anyone growing up in the 60's very happy. Depp is set to produce and star as Barnabas Collins in the movie version of the cult soap-opera hit "Dark Shadows." Here is a list of facts about the popular TV Show

	Was the 1st gothic soap-opera, had witches, werewolves, ghosts and other monsters on the show.
	Ran on ABC from 1966-1971.
	Main character was Barnabas Collins, a reluctant vampire who captured the hearts of audience members.
	During it's run, it was one of the most popular shows on television with many schoolchildren skipping classes so they could run home and watch the show.
	The character of Barnabas Collins and the show itself, heavily influenced author Ann Rice, who used similar themes in her book "Interview with the Vampire."
	Celebrities who consider themselves fans of the show include: Johny Depp (Who always wanted to play Barnabas) Madonna and Tim Burton.
	The show can be credited with bringing the vampire/gothic genre to television. Shows like "Passions" "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" can all credit Dark Shadows to some degree.
	Dark Shadows has a cult following similar to Star Trek fans or Star Wars fans but to a lesser degree. Fans of the show have conventions every year where former stars of the show interact with the fans.
	The three most popular characters on the show were Barnabas Collins, the reluctant vampire played by thespian actor Jonathan Frid, Quentin Collins, the bad-boy of the show who eventually becomes a werewolf (Think Sawyer on Lost mixed with Teen-Wolf) played by David Selby, and the evil witch Angelique, the former lover/witch of Barnabas Collins who places the vampire curse on him played by Hollywood beauty Laura Parker.
