| | Stranger Than Fiction (2006)- This movie redefines romance, destiny and, well, fiction. A must-see for anyone who digs books and finding love in the strangest places. Will Ferrel shines as a dramatic actor, and Maggie Gyllenhaal and Dustin Hoffman make a stellar supporting cast. |
| | Best In Show (2000)- A hilarious mockumentary about a prestigious dog show, and the wacky entrants. With a star-studded cast, offbeat personalities, and deadpan delivery, this film was reviewed very well, yet remains somewhat obscure. |
| | The Great New Wonderful (2006)- A delicate yet hilarious vignette comedy-drama. It takes place in NYC one year after 9-11, focusing on seemingly unconnected New Yorkers affected by the tragedy. With 9-11 as the backdrop, the subject matter was deemed too sensitive by some critics, especially for an independent film. This movie cuts to the core of the matter via dialogue and wit, as opposed to action-packed patriotism. Be on the lookout for Stephen Colbert in this film! |
| | Proof (2005)- Gwyneth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anthony Hopkins took viewers on a surprisingly mathematical trip through genius and insanity. It was adapted from a play, and retains the same dialogue-driven feel. You don't have to be a calculus nerd to like this one. |

You might be familiar with the plot already, but Kiera Knightley and her comrades put their own twist on this tale of romance and misunderstanding. In fact, it was the role Kiera Knightley was Oscar-Nominated for. This is no chick flick, but rather a poignant take on tradition, still relevant for anyone who still believes in true love. |
