Scrapbooking is sweeping the nation! With thousands of product choices out there, here are a few things you can get started with on a budget.
| | Adhesive - You will need some way to attach your photographs and other items onto your scrapbook page. Dots, Tape Runners, and double-sided tapes are all excellent choices. |
| | Colored Card Stock - Acid-free colored card stock can be used for just about any scrapbook or card-making project you can think of, is less expensive than patterned paper, and is extremely versitile. |
| | Patterned Paper - Start with one idea (baby shower, heritage album, wedding) for your scrapbook and buy individual coordinating paper that goes with it. Alternatively, you can buy a "Stack" of patterned papers for 9.99 to 19.99. One group of individual papers or one stack should be more than enough to get you started. (Keep your scraps!) |
| | Something with an Edge - Scissors, a paper-cutter, exacto knife... you'll need something to cut your paper down to size and trim photographs. Chances are you already have scissors, so give them a try! Eventually you'll want a paper trimmer. Get a good-quality one with a replaceable blade. |
| | Photographs! - Luckily you probably won't have to buy these if you're like most people and have hundreds laying around dying to be used. You may want to get copies made until you're satisfied you won't ruin your originals. (Important originals should always be copied) |
| | Pens/Markers/Stuff to Write With - While rub-ons and stickers are probably calling your name as you browse the aisles, all you really need are a few nice pens or markers to get started. Larger tips can be used for titles. Smaller tips for doodling and journaling. |
