Sarasota, Florida - On Vacation?

If you're dropping by on vacation, here's a list of things to do!
| | Beaches! Of course this is the top of the list, right? Make sure to visit Siesta Key Beach. It's ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, has very fine white quartz sand, and some of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see. Check out the public drum circle on Sunday evenings right before the sun goes down. |
| | Food! There are many fine restaurants all over Sarasota. We're known for our seafood eats, but if you're like us and don't dig the shellfish, there are lots of other local places as well. Make sure to check out The Continental (British) for breakfast (Siesta Key)! Big E's coffee shop is also a great middle of the day stop. |
| | Culture! The Van Wezel has a variety of performances throughout the year. The Sarasota Ballet is also well-known. Local theater groups include Venice Little Theatre and The Players of Sarasota. If you prefer a small venue with local bands there are a number of pubs, bars, and other spaces. |
| | Sports! Sarasota and the surrounding areas is home to spring training grounds for several minor and major league teams. We also boast many beautiful golf courses. |
| | Shopping! St. Armands Circle not only has an awesome fudge shop, it's hope to a number of restaurants, clothing shops, and unique stores as well. (Parking can be a pain, though.) |
| | Weekend Events! From the medieval fair to charity functions to many arts and crafts exhibitions throughout the year, Sarasota usually has something to do on the weekends. Remember to bring cash beforehand--most of these events are outside and don't have electricity for credit card machines. |
