Avon is just West of Vail and there are so many things to do regardless of the season-this year. Below is a list of great activities to fill your days on your next vacation to Avon.
| | Beaver Creek opens on November 22. Beaver Creek has a wide range of winter activities including free movie nights and plays at the resort. |
| | Skiing at either Vail or Beaver Creek is what most people do when they come to visit. |
| | Flyfishing on the Eagle River is quite good after the spring runoff which would typically be after July 4. |
| | The July 4th celebration is a great one. The fireworks over Nottingham Lake in Avon are some of the best in the nation. |
| | Nice walkable town |
| | Paddys Sports Bar - good burgers and pizza. |
| | outdoor concert season which has drawn artists like Asleep at the Wheel, Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett. |
| | There is also an Art Show in August at the Beaver Creek Resort just outside of Avon. |
| | In the fall, there is Octoberfest both in Beaver Creek and Vail. The music and food, not to mention the beer, is great. |
| | You can take the ski lifts up the mountain and if you like hiking, you can hike down. |
| | There is shopping in Vail Village, which is a great place to wander around. |
| | You can Kayak in the Eagle River too. |
| | Beaver Creek offers some interesting cooking demonstrations during the summer as well. |
| | Nice place to take a drive - You could drive down to Glenwood Springs which is West of Avon along I70. You would drive thru Glenwood Canyon which is spectacular and worth the 40 or so mile trip. From Glenwood, you could drive to Aspen and go see the Maroon Bells, which is a very beautiful lake and mountain range. |
