Five Best Books I've Read in the Past Month

I'm trying to wean myself from my book buying habit and only check out books from the library. I visit a local bookstore and make lists of the books I want to check out at the library. Here are five of the best from the past month:

1. Heartsick by Chelsea Cain (Hannibal Lecter-eque mystery set in the PDX)
2. Look Me in the Eye by John Elder Robison (August Burrough's autistic brother)
3. Paint It Black by Janet Fitch (White Oleander was better, but this book, set in the 80s punk scene was quite lovely)
4. Beatrix Potter: A Life in Nature by Linda Lear (just amazing, with detailed drawings and photos)
5. The Other Mother by Gwendolen Gross (tis Mommy Lit but with a darker side, good for bath reading)
